Princess Eliza and her brothers are perfectly happy – until their father marries a woman who is secretly a witch. determined to get rid of the children, the witch turns the brothers into swans. But Eliza escapes her clutches and sets out to undo the spell.

‘Snow White’ a traditional tale.
Snow White is a beautiful young princess whose jealous stepmother, the Queen, tries to have her killed: but the kindly huntsman lets her escape into the woods. Snow White finds a new home with the seven dwarves…. but she is not safe yet, the Queen is still after her!

“Rapunzel’ a classic tale (Ladybird Books)
A witch took Rapunzel away from her parents when she was a baby, and locked her in a high tower. The tower had no doors, every day when the witch came to see Rapunzel she called out “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair” and Rapunzel threw her long golden hair out of the window for the witch to climb up. One day a prince rode by and saw the witch climb up to Rapunzel in the tower and he decided to rescue her….

‘The Princess and the Pea’ (retold) by Lauren Child.
Theme: traditional tale.
Real princesses are hard to find these days. You just have to wait for one to come to you. And if one does, just to be sure, make her bed of twelve feather mattresses, and, and underneath place a small green pea. Then wait for the morning and if she wakes up all black and blue, you’ll know you have indeed found a real princess.

‘The Frog Prince’ a traditional tale by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm
The princess loses her favourite toy, a golden ball, in a pond. A kindly frog finds it for her but in return she must promise to let the frog live with her in the palace. She is not very happy about it ….. but maybe there is more to the frog than meets the eye?
